Bookish Childhood Memories #5

Bookish Childhood Memories

This week’s book is Night Adventures of the Clocks: Fairy Tales (Pulksteņu nakts gaitas) by Māra Cielēna. She is Latvian writer. There are seven fairy tales in this book. There’s one about what clocks do at night. There’s one about cats organizing a cat tram (the tram is basically cats going in a row). Another one is about chess pieces having gardens on their respective spots on the chess board, how they are very unhappy when they have to play chess during Summer, as they don’t want to ruin each others crops. All of the fariy tales ar quite quirky and funny.

The illustrator is Anita Paegle.
